I tried to research this first but couldn't come up with a conclusive answer.
Is there a recommended way of stripping the paint off of a rear spoiler without harming the gel coat?
Thanks...............Dave

Dave, I posted a reply to your other thread over at TC, but I was under the impression that the factory spoilers were ABS, rather than fiberglass.

I've used 'Captain Lees' stripper on several corvette bodies; that seems to be the solution used by most when chemical stripping. It's quick, esp on lacquer, and cleans up with water... (although you should always follow with a solvent or special cleaner to make sure ..)

Just spray it on, NOT in a windy environment, wait a minute or so, and then use a 'cut' plastic bondo spreader to scrape off the paint layers... (onto newspapers you can toss.. don't get it on anything else)..
