When I disassembled my front clip and all the RS parts, I noticed the car had two different size (depth) Headlamp retainer rings. These appear to be identical except for the depth, and both/either work fine. One is approx. 13/16" deep, and the other is 1" deep. Which of these are correct? or did GM use both sizes interchangeably? One corner of my car was hit before I bought it in the mid 70's, so I'm not sure if both these parts are original from the factory, OR not. Your help greatly appreciated so I know which of these to replace.. :) Photos are attached...

I posted this back in 2013 but got no responses at that time... I'm hoping someone now can answer this question for me re the headlamp retention rings... Which is correct?

I was wondering about this before also. I have a later GM ring that is about 13/16" and I have a repop that is 1" wide.
I am assuming all early first gen Camaro's use the same but I don't know which is correct.

The thicker one is correct. Never measured an original. I’d say it is every bit an inch if not more(what she said)lol.
