Title: X Code confusion
Post by: Rufcar on July 14, 2013, 07:02:34 PM
Kurt had helped me a few months back with great info and now that my car is about done I was going over past info. My 69 # is 124379L501984 which indicates its very early. Made in Van Nyes in Sept of 68. That said, I have a code of X441. If I follow CRG info that means it was made the 24 day of sept,  unit number 441 that day. But according to GM LOS monthly totals they only made 2310 units that month or 77 a day. I know Im taking the month as a full 30 days but using that rationale how can my car be the 441 on the 26th day?

Remember, Van Nuys was building other Chevys too, not just Camaros...

"Data analysis indicates that the sequence number at the LOS plant was assigned regardless of model or body type. By this we mean that Camaros and full-size passenger cars both incremented the same sequence counter."
