Title: Great reference site with reviews on auto shippers...
Post by: KevinK on August 29, 2006, 04:04:53 PM
I'm in the process of having my '67 shipped from NV to NY, ...and came across this site:

  http://www.transportreviews.com/

...I thought it worth posting for others who at some point may be shipping a car.

I've also found that Classic Car dealers (whom you know and trust) can be helpful, since they often ship cars or refer others.

Kevin, did you insure your car in shipping?  If so, what was the rate?

Phil,
I do have coverage on the car, ...but I did not purchase special coverage for shipping.  Yes, ...this may seem like a 'risk', but since the car is not (yet) restored, ...I went this route.

Good point.  And once you mentioned it, I realized that the car could still be covered under a regular policy (like when it is being trailered).
