I don't think Norwood would let it go without the smog equipment would they?

In 1969, ALL small block engines with manual transmissions came with smog.

Lot's of misinformation in that ad.

That's what I thought. Why was it that the manual trans got smog and the automatics didn't?

From the CRG EMISSIONS SYSTEMS (http://www.camaros.org/emissions.shtml) report:

Quote
Generally speaking, an automatic car required less aggressive emission control than a manual transmission car because the engine load (and carburetor fuel metering consistency) was more stable and predictable.
Automatic cars still got "smog" equipment, but it was the simpler CCS system.

If all he says is true where is the POP? Wrong jack and in my opinion wrong spare. I'd have to look at it real close to believe the sales pitch.

There are SOOOO many things wrong.

"TOTALLY STOCK SURVIVIOR"

Hardly.

1. Looks to have replacement stainless exhaust
2. Looks like it has an aftermarket Hurst shifter to me
3. Hurst emblem on the console??? Certainly not "stock".
4. GM sticker on the door jam
6. Repop NK1 steering wheel
7. As been observed already, missing smog
8. As been observed already, repop jack and hold down (the air cleaner stud looks to be just a bit too long too!)
8. "Triple Dusk Blue Z28/RS less the 1% had this color and options combination" - I have NO CLUE where he got this info from. Must have pulled it out of his @$$
9. "F41 suspension" - Sorry, NOT available on the Z28
10. "I have over $71,000 in NADA/McNeish Value at $75,000+" - Jerry didn't certify this car, so where did this number come from??

Many other things as well, but I don't have the time to post them all

Nice car and color combo but way to many things wrong and the stories just don't  jive. I asked for title info, vin #'s trans # trim tag # DZ # etc and am still waiting
Bidding is going crazy but this car screams buyer beware!
my 2 cents

With a starting bid of 666 that sure made me look twice.  ;)
Many times I think these bids are the same people under different names to drive the price up.

I was looking at that listing yesterday, it is a very nice color combination, but as pointed out, many inaccuracies for the way the car is described.
What about the statement that California cars never got the chambered exhaust?!

This guy is either very confused or full of ----    but the bids prove something is going on but your probably right they are "shill" bids and not actual bidders

A few more:

 - Spare tire drum painted gray rather than black
 - Hood hinges and springs appear to be painted.
 - Paint line dividing firewall from cowl is too defined, appears to have been masked (no white stripe overspray visible)
 - Trunk mat (not available without deluxe interior)
 - Phillips screw used to secure cowl relay to firewall. Unusually high mounting position on cowl seam.
 - RS hoses are mis-routed on firewall.
 - Left side shock mounting plate is incorrect.
 - Oversize screws securing console shifter plate.
 - Upper hood latch assembly appears to be painted silver or media blasted (could be from photo flash washout).
 - Lower hood latch assembly painted black.
 - Wood applique trim plates behind radio knobs missing.
 - Washer bottle cap is new/NOS replacement, hose incorrectly routed to pump.
 - Intake manifold front plug incorrect.
 - Both fender mounted hood bumpers missing.
 - Cowl to hood seal either missing or painted body color (poor image)
 - Battery cable grounded to upper alternator bracket.
 - Replacement or restoration voltage regulator.
 - Air cleaner assembly paint and all decals too fresh for 71,000 mile, 44 year old car.

Well here is the reply I got back from the seller after I e-mailed him wanting him to comment on some of the discrepancy's:

as I said to others it was explained to buyer (boo2ya)how I was ripped off by Joel Shelby Motors on the yenko clone car sold to boo2ya, he was aware of the problems with the car before purchase and was told the title was from seller of car totally misrepresented Joel Shelby motor / autosport to me in which a criminal case was started by Carolina State Law enforcements District attorneys, ON FILE, sale to me with a 9 year old pink slip and bill of sale from Joel Shelby to me , he also (boo2ya) does not say that I paid 32,000$ for the car , plus $2000.00 Shipping and a number of items to get the car road worthy at a cost of over $4000 for the car at my cost of 38,000 + the legal fees against Joel Shelby $6000 and sold the car to him for $20k and paid the shipping cost for him and drove the care 260 mile on a trailer to shipper at my expense in order to get it to him before the first of the year, post that to Camaros.org fourum "MAN PAYS 44,000 FOR MISREPRESENTED CAR FROM JOEL SHELBY MOTORS AND THEN SELLS FOR 20K WITHIN MONTHS TELLING NEW BUYER AND THEN NEW BUYER SCREWS SELLER EVEN THOUGH HE KNEW PROBLEMS WITH TITLE "

I'm not sure what he's talking about. ???

Those appear to be the Chevrolet OTC items that were available in the mid '70's.

Interesting...it had a winning bid from e***p and now it's relisted by the original seller again.
Either the e***p is a bogus bidder to drive the price up or he/she backed out.

That listing was an additional "non bidding" listing put up by seller so he could post more photos. Car did sell but who know if that was a true bidder or not. Its a nice care with great options and many of the issues are repairable and can be brought up to correct standards. I would love to take out the back seat and look at the brace for the chalk coding and remove the front cowl and heater core cover to check hidden vins.
My Z does not have a green tip stick but a flat type handle. My good friend who bought his BB X77 in Virginia when he was in the navy in 1969 has the same flat type stick.

Interesting.....................

The car looks nice for its age.  However,  the seller's postings, they raise a big red flag to me.
I agree with LM69Z28;   a closer look would reveal a lot about this car.

I agree with the flat dip stick, as my 08C car also has the flat style, there is a thread on here regarding it. It did seem there was a small window for green tip though from what I remember.

Another red flag...promo items for this Z are all from Reilly Chevrolet in Suebenville, OH (now closed dealer). Many items from Reilly have been sold on Ebay in the last few months (someone apparently bought out the dealer's stock sometime in the past), so I would be wary of buying a car that was supposedly sold at that dealer. Also, the documents bag is a repop, not orig, and the documents appear too new. Also, the D80 chalk mark on the firewall allears to be phony. Aside from these items (and the aforementioned dozens of red flag items), I'm ready to get out my checkbook :).
