Hello everyone- I am new to the group. I am doing the finishing touches on my restoration and I wanted to add an underhood lamp. However, I don't see any exisiting holes for the lamp. The manual shows a hole on the drivers side support beam. The hood is original. Did 67 SS Camaros come with an optional underhood lamp.
Thank you very much.

Welcome Jerry, 67 under hood lamps are different than 68 & 69 . They only have one mounting screw and are mounted turned around as you can see in the pic. Small block on the left side and big block on the right. The 67's are tuff to find so you may have to use the later ones

Jerry, to answer your question, no, the SS package didin't include the underhood lamp. It was a separate option (RPO U26).

Is this the same for all three years? And is the left and right from the drivers seat or from the front of the car looking at the firewall? Assuming looking from the drivers seat..

Yes, they were installed so as to illuminate the dipstick side of the engine.
Left side is driver, right side is passenger (as seen from the driver position looking forward).

Last time I saw a NOS one on eBay, it went for crazy money - somewhere north of $400 as I recall.

If anybody needs an NOS under hood light for Nationals Judging I have one still in the box with paperwork and directions for '68 and '69.

The one in the pic is an nos one I got from ebay. A couple years back. I think I got it for 125.00
