I just looked at a 68 NOS RS grill I have still in the original box collecting dust I bought in the early 80's from Chevy and there is no P/N embedded in the plastic mold on the grill. The headlight covers only have the P/N on the GM stickers.

Ahhh - just when you think you've seen 'em all, consider this NOS grille -

Maybe it's a standard grille vs. Rally Sport grille thing?

Could be - unfortunately, I don't have an RS grille to compare it to. One observation: From dealing with GM parts over the years, I have rarely seen a GM part (especially of any size) that didn't have a part number either stamped or molded into it, even some of the smallest and most obtuse parts (like my original dimmer switch carpet grommet I ran across the other night - has part # and manufacturer, and "Made in USA" molded into the reverse side).

Steve

I *thought* I'd gotten an NOS '68 Camaro grill in a bunch of stuff a few years ago, but I just went down and checked the PN on the box.. and it's  3891693.   Anyone got any idea what this is?

  #3891693 is a '67 Standard Grille.  I have a N.O.S. one for my Camaro.

I think it depends on where it was made. I have two GM '68 standard grills, one from Canada with the number and one out of the box without the number. Same part number for both. Hope this helps, RonM.

Thanks!   :)   I need to find a '67 owner then... and so some trading.  Are these of any interest to a '67 owner?

I'm sure it' s of interest to somebody with a '67.  As I said, I have one for my car, so I'm good.
