Need to know what the paint inspection mark looks like on a brake booster for a 68z. Color, location ,shape, size? thanks alot John

why? If you did not find it maybe your car did not have it. Did you have it but re-plate without documenting it? I have a photos of an OEM 68 Z28 booster with no markings that I can see.
What I am trying to say is that too many folks put marks all over their car because they saw it on another Camaro and they think that is what is correct when in fact it may not be... for example the inspection marks on a part may have been for a group of inspected parts and not every part got it... besides that things changed from day to day and car to car...
In order to preserve the true history one should only restore what they find on their car...
Please don't take me the wrong way... I am just trying to be helpful so with that said, it is your car...

PS I would suggest that you try to find 2 very close build date original (not restored) cars to yours,,find something just prior to your car and something just after...
This way you are more likely going to be correct ... but bare in mind what i wrote above.

Couldn't find any mark at all on my original. See signature for date.

There's no marking of any kind on my original 9078 dated 128 (May 7th, 1968) booster.

And nothing on my original 67 (084 date) booster aside from the white broadcast tag attached to the booster check valve.
I only mention it because it looks like no paint dabs consistent across the years. I have only seen them on restored cars.

I have a April built 68 Z no markings. I also had another April built Z no markings either. I have a extra booster from a June built car no markings. 3 boosters total no markings just 9078 and the date codes
