Title: pace car 500 Festival decal
Post by: Indy Z11 on April 11, 2013, 03:17:57 PM
I posted this over at camaropacecars.com and camaros.net but thought I'd try here too.
Is anyone already reproducing the 500 Festival decals with CORRECT dimensions? I spoke to one of the big decal companies who will do it. Can anyone answer any of the following?

- Are there any originals still existing?
- What is the CORRECT diameter of the outer circle?  Looks about 12".
- Are the 1967 and 1969 decals identical?
- Are there any good close-up photographs of an original out there?
- Who manufactured the original ones?
- Does anyone have any specifications on correct dimensions, color, etc?
- Are the outer circle and center state logo two separate pieces?
- Has anyone ever contacted the Campbell Ewald advertising agency that was responsible for the race advertising campaign back in the 60's to see if they have anything?

Kurt, is the image in your pace car article http://www.camaros.org/images/69pacer/69pacer_500festival_l.jpg (http://www.camaros.org/images/69pacer/69pacer_500festival_l.jpg) a photocopy of an original?

That a B/W scan of the one that was in the old Camaro Corral Magazine article on the 67 PCs from the mid 80s.  I should know, I scanned it.
