Title: Correct Cowl Induction coil bracket question.
Post by: 69Z28 on March 26, 2013, 06:54:21 PM
Is this the correct coil bracket with Cowl Induction? I was looking at the bracket that HBC offers and there is a difference. Can anyone confirm this?

I have a similar bracket in a pile of stuff I am getting ready to put up for sale. JohnZ taught me that there is a lot of fellow ebayers selling the notched bracket as the CORRECT bracket for a Z/28. It is NOT just a Z/28 bracket. In fact, if I remember correctly, it is not even for the Z/28. Here is mine.... Danny

Thanks Danny for the heads up. How many here have original Cowl Induction? You would think there would be more replies on this. I read somewhere that the notch was correct. I have to say I had a bid on the one on ebay but I retracted it until someone here could confirm it. Can anyone second what Danny stated? Notch or no notch.

Gary, I checked my notes and per info supplied by JohnZ the coil bracket with a cowl hood tilted the coil back 30-35 degrees vs. 15-20 degrees normally. I have no info on the notch.

my 07A X77D80 car has the original paint still on the cowl induction hood and my DZ engine never been out of the car. My coil bracket is notched and looks like the above picture. I have been told it is also the same bracket used on 70 chevelle cowl induction hoods. Also the coil changes from flat hood Z's to a 270br for cowl hoods and 293 for flat hood cars
