Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find an original posi tag & plug for my 12-bolt rear. Can anyone post an image of the correct
( original ) posi tag & plug combination for the 69 12-bolt rear? I believe the originals had incused lettering
that was back filled ( with white ), while the newer ones seem to indicate a silk screened process being used.
I have also seen different fill plug styles as well. Possibly with different size heads. What is correct for my
Camaro? If it matters, it is an early build ( 10-D-68 ).
These items show up on eBay from time to time, but I am hesitant to buy as I know only one is probably correct.

mr396,
Is your tag original, service replacement, or reproduction? Are the letters incused ( cut in ) or silk screened?

That tag is incorrect for a 68-69, the correct tag should say (USE POSITRACTION DIFF LUBRICATION ONLY) The white letters are silk screened on and not cut in to the plastic tag. The hole size is 3/4 inch. Ricks Camaro sells a repo of this tag but the letter fonts are not same as compared to a original tag.

I am sure mine said Limited slip on my 68 tag. That picture is from ricks catalog. I took my tag off and put it away, and as soon as I remember where I put it, I take a picture and post it. My camaro only had 50,000 miles on it when I got it and thought the posi tag to be original.

There is a original 69 posi tag on Ebay right now, item # 160016105260, this is the same tag I have.
