Title: 68 Left Rear Drum Brake Line Routing
Post by: gkweber3 on March 17, 2013, 01:49:56 PM
Hi guys - another re-assembly question. I purchased new stainless brake lines from In-Line Tubing. So far, most have fit reasonably well. However, I am confused by the line that goes from the rear axle junction to the left rear backing plate. It looks like it loops around the rear of the shock versus just going straight down the axle to the backing plate. Is this right? The AIM does not have a detailed picture of this area. If anyone has a picture it would great! Thanks.

I hope this helps. If you need the other side let me know. It actually goes in front as you can see and after it makes the loop it goes straight down the tube into the wheel cylinder.

Here's another that might help. I had to resize it so small you might not be able to see details. If you will send me an email I can send you the big one.

Daniel,
What is that the tire is sitting in as shown in the first picture?

An old wheel. We had it up on old wheels so we didn't scratch the paint on the rear axle or frame rails. Plus it's a little more stable than jack stands too.

In reviewing with Daniel - he noted that Mono and Multi-Leaf had different lines. Mine is a Mono - anyone with Pics?
