Hey Guys I just need a verification to be sure I did my homework correctly, could you please help.
I am restoring my 68 Z28 which is going in for paint and want it to be correct in color. The car is a J2 paint code, Ralley Green w/ black Vinyl top. PPG paint Code 43898
The white stripes are Ermine White PPG paint Code 8259 and the interior Dash panel is Black PPG paint Code 9266
I know this has been asked before but are the Rocker panels blacked out and if so what PPG paint code # is it.
This is a great site and appreciate all the discussions and help everybody contributes.
I'm hoping to get this car on the road by June 2013, Thanks for your help. John

John,
In '68, the body sill black-out paint was applied to a Rallye Green car only if it had the Rally Sport (Z22) appearance package.

I believe the stripes should be black.

The table says they should be white, for 68. http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#ExteriorColors
Bill, for 69 you are right, they would be black with the black top.

I do like the Black Stripe w/ Black Vinyl Stripe and Black Interior combo but I want to be as correct as possible and will go with the White Stripes, I want to be sure my PPG codes are correct for 1968 Camaro Z28, Thanks

I'm no paint expert but from the little I think I know having the current PPG paint code does not necessarily mean the color will be a correct match. I've seen differences between the results of Dupont and PPG paint codes for what was supposed to be the same color/same year. Hopefully a paint expert will chime in.

AND not all colors can be duplicated in base/clear, if that is what you are useing.
