Title: Solenoid number for 69 Z28
Post by: 69Z28 on March 12, 2013, 04:17:47 AM
Is the solenoid for the 69Z 1108367 starter number 1114362? I know inside the cap can be rebuilt but what about the main body insides. Not even sure what it does actually. How do you find out if a solenoid is even working after you replace the contact disc and stuff? Anybody restore these?

Gary, the solenoid should be 1114356. See item #17 in the table below, against starter 1108367.

Gary, one of the more obvious things wrong with restored solenoids and some starter restorations is the solenoids bakelite end cap. It should have the delco remy embossed in the center and be black. Later versions had a brownish red look. One of the things a NCRS judge looks for!

Ok. Good info. Bad info on the 1114362 solenoid floating around then. I have a few solenoids with the black caps and the brown caps. I'll have to take a look to see if they are delco or note. Thanks for letting me know about the correct color and the correct number for the 1108367 starter. Way too much misinformation out there.
