I am notat all satisfied with the reproduction radiator hose markings. They are nowhere close to correct... it is actually funny how bad they are...
If anyone has photo's of NOS or Original Hoses I would greatly appreciate copies... if you have the hoses on hand and could take some photos with a ruler or tape measure showing the height or width of the characters I would appreciate it.
There were alignment stripes on some (yellow or Blue) I would appreciate photo's of the stripes as well.
I am going to make a stencil, stamp. or silk screen to replicate the markings... I am SOOOO tired of buying reproduction parts that are not right...why bother making them, I can buy incorrect stuff at the local autozone any day of the week AND it is alot cheaper.
Judging by the response on other boards quite a few guys feel the same way as I feel.
I may be busy repopping rad hoses...

Stay away from the repop crap unless you drive a ford, then it fits right in!!!

Here are the results of the 2 stamps I have made so far... does any one (JohnZ) know what I need to do as far as permission/licensing from GM in order to sell hoses with the stamps on them?

Licensing for GM Restoration Parts and use of the GM logo on parts is handled for GM by Equity Management, Inc. (www.equitymanagementinc.com).

Thanks John, I have sent a request to them.
The 67-68 Z hose markings were taken from the photos of Jon Mello's survivor 67 Z hose.
I will keep everyone up to date with the results of the request to equity management...

Yeah...
I just got a set of upper and lower hoses from Rick's for a 69 SS, and the GM markings were pathetic....
I didn't have the heart to put them on....

Someone has been making correct looking hoses for the Corvettes for years.
The Camaro ones currently available are not even close to authentic.
Put me down for a few sets. ;D

Good news ;D I heard from EM and I am going through the process... I will let everyone know when everything is finalized... I will be doing upper and lowers for SB and BB 67-69 Camaro's to begin with. COPO's included. Next will be 70-73 SB uppers and lowers. I have the research done for all of the above listed hoses and will be submitting the Part#'s to the licensing company.

Are those numbers exclusive to the z/28? I think those are also all small block for 69. My build sheet for my 69 has JR and SM in the boxes for heater hoses.

Jonesy you are correct the 69 hose is for all SB... the lower markings with the UY are for 67-68 Z exclusively...

I would be interested in hoses for both my 67 and 69 when you get them done. Whats your timeline?

I got tired of waiting so I made my own.
I have all 1stGen available - All official GM licensed products.

Just wondering if you have tested washing them and how well the ink holds up?

Thanks for asking - Yes.
I have done everything I could think of.
I wanted to be sure not to have any angry people. LOL
Got them hot over and over, then - dish soap - oil, PS fluid, Brake fluid, car wash soap- armorall - silicone - wet rags - wd40.
I twisted them - froze them - soaked them in the bath tub...
threw them in the pool- baried them in the sand -- left them in the sun.
Rubbed real hard with a towel - no changes
They were perfect -
They stood up to anything that my original hoses did.
Careful though-- lacquer thinner takes the markings right off,
just like it did to my originals so no thinner.
And no steel wool or scotch pads -that reduced the logo.
Also I don't use a white ink - I thought it looked too new and obvious - did not like that on my cars.
I make them "yellowed"so it looks just like the real ones I have.
I did a TON of research before making any.
I collected examples of lots of original hoses before I started.
There were so many different versions of the logos and fonts, and sizes.
I chose this style simply... because I liked it the best
It looked vintage.
Some of the NCRS data was a big help.

No -- actually I am doing this all myself.
Got tired of waiting. ???
Secured all the licenses, then made the hoses.
I have $1000's invested in product & licenses, 100's of hours in research.
It was not an easy thing to do - but I really hated the repro hoses.
I just did not want to wait anymore. 8)

Congratulations on taking this on- it says something that you will willing to go beyond complaining and develop a solution. I look forward to seeing more of this sort of thing from our community!
