Title: 69 Z/28 Question

   Hi, all I have a question ... I have a complete 302 from air cleaner to starter the build date on the front pad of the engine is VoI30DZ ......So what month of car would it most likely be for? Or does it matter at this point and stick it in any Z/28 ... Because I want a nice car  that you can drive and not just look pretty and polish .... It does have the vin stamped into the rough cast on the side... just haven't put it on the engine stand to  get the numbers ...Thanks Rob

Early/mid February. Engine build/car build was running pretty close in the early '69 production days, seems to average 1-2 weeks prior to car build in January - February. Post the VIN and it will help bracket the date -

 Steve is correct on the very close mating with a car.
I was very surprised with your build date! Mine is the same day!
My block date, VO13ODZ. (Thursday) Block Casting date A289.(Two days prior)   Tag is 02A Following week (Feb. 3-7th)
Engine casting date, build date (Production date), and installed in car just days away.
