Post by: dannystarr on February 07, 2013, 07:30:40 AM
This tag has a weird rivet. Does it look right? ....... Danny

Kind of hard to tell if that is rivet sealant, but that looks like a round head nail.

I think the tag is a repop.

I know it's kinda hard to see. It was a small distant pic so I had to zoom in on it a little. Plus it has some kind of goop on it and glaring which makes it even harder to tell. Hopefully Kurt, Ed, Mark, JohnZ and a few others can take a look and chime in. Thanx guys so far..... Danny

I'm sure Kurt is right but I see a couple of anomalies that made me think it might be fake but not having another to compare it with always makes it a little more confusing.

It's got some distorted characters on it, probably from the 37 layers of paint on it, but it looks real to me as well.

I have seen real cars without any dope in the rivets so if you see that, don't let that scare you off by itself.

Would make you wonder if it was taken off, rivets replaced and then rattle canned to death.  Or maybe just the latter.
