Title: Rear Spoiler Mounting?
Post by: ironhorse on July 28, 2006, 08:26:45 PM
Just got my new (repo) deck lid and rear spoiler back from the paint shop.  I thought they were supposed to pre drill the holes for the spoiler but they didn't.  What is the best way to mount the spoiler?  I am a little anxious about drilling the holes in the deck lid and want to do it accurately.

You might try over at Team Camaro and search for spoiler template.  I recall a post in the last couple of months about the same issue.  I believe that someone had mentioned that one of the major Camaro suppliers have a template that they'll be glad to sell you.   I just eye balled mine and got lucky but mine appears to fit correctly.  You might also try the assembly manual.  Don't have mine handy or I'd check it out for you.      Jim

I used a sheet of cardboard, over the studs, and trimmed to the spoiler base. Then laid it out on the trunk and punched, then drilled the holes. Took a little time, but it worked well. I have been told there is some variation (minor) in studs on the spoiler.
