Warren Fairbanks passed away yesterday morning (10-18-12). I first saw Warren race at Meadowdale in his B Production, 289 Cobra in 1968 and was fortunate enough to see almost every race he ever ran after that into the 1980's. I will miss him.
I included a picture taken in 1971 of, from left to right, me (Mike Jarchow), Jerry Lagod and Warren.

Sorry to hear about that, Mike. I remember watching Warren run that Camaro at Road America. He was a very good driver. That looks like Jerry Lagod's Camaro in the background. Thanks for posting the pic. Warren will be missed.

That is Jerry's Camaro in the background.

Mike, very sorry to hear that news also. I'm thinking he was way too young. I did race against Warren at WG in 70 and later at Hallet in 80.
Did I see that car recentlly at Monterey with Ron Tribble? Was Warren "tuned in" to the CRG forum?

Yes Robert, Ron Tribble does have Warren's Camaro.
Warren was not tuned in to CRG.

Very sorry to hear of Warrens's passing, Mike... I have many fond memories. My condolences to his family and friends.

This is sad news. I met Warren when I purchased and then restored his famous '63 289 Cobra. He had a great memory for detail. What a great guy and a loss to the motorsports community.
