HI all new poster from Australia. Currently Im looking for a good condition original 69 camaro. I have found this one on ebay and from the attached pics it looks like the fuel tank may have been replaced unless they came with the grey colour from the factory. Can anyone assist and pick any other discrepancies in the photos supplied?
Its being advertised as a genuine matching numbers car..ALthough I think th eprice is way too high??

Kind Regards,
Adam

Was for sale in August by same seller.
There are several items that's not original, -not just what could be the fuel tank..
The fuel tanks were galvanised from factory. Whether that's the original tank or a replacement, it does look like it could be a GM. Even a mild rear-end collision would damage the tank, so a replacement within the last 42 years is likely. Many non-GM repros look like, or are painted.
This car has an engine number T1230HC and I'm wondering why the seller has failed to mention it. Car's build date is 2nd week of Feb.
The HC is 350/250hp (RPO L65) 4 speed (could also be 3 speed manual) and 2bbl carb.

that oil pan looks like it has met the road a few times!

Pretty car, but it should have the "short" rear spoiler.

Something is not right. The rear end is built two months after the engine was built. He don't show the trim tag and I'm too lazy to look up the VIN to see when the car was built. But something is definitely wrong.

Not sure i follow you on that last one the trim is houndstooth and thats qhat it says on the cowl plate i think the code was 722

OK The engine is not original to the car IMHO. The rear end is probably original. As for the 722 that shows it to be Medium Green Custom. Not Houndstooth. This is a Mixed Bag of parts put together to make a car again just my opinion. I'd run away from it if I were looking for a numbers matching car. Too many things wrong to be numbers matching.

garnet red with a medium green interior? yuch!!!! or is it not the original color. i dont see a rim tag pic anywhere

where did you get a trim code of 722 I have a photo of the coul tag and its 713 which is hounds tooth. What makes you think the engine isnt original to the car. The sequence number of the engine matches the VIN....
-
The engine number is 19L523370-T1230HC which corresponds with the VIN 124379L523370

Post a pic of the cowl tag

Do you have a picture of the stamp? These things are hard to see most times and I like to see a picture of the trim tag too.
