Title: Driveshaft Paint

In searching the threads for finishing my 12-bolt.  Can I assumet the driveshaft, minus the joints at either end, should be semi-gloss black?

If your talking factory finish....bare steel.  No paint what so ever, with the exception of the stripe markings.
