hey guys...
Maybe sombody can help me. I bought my 69 z28 5 months ago as an unfinished project. It had been in storage since 1974 ! the previous owner told me he installed ceramic pads and shoes years ago on the car. (never used) when i got the car home and removed the drums i saw shoes like i had never seen.
the it had square pads as liners. Odd to me. They have slight surface rust due to the age but are stamped delco. Were these ever installed in a factory car???
thanks ! Steve

Jon Mello's 67 z28 had the HD brake option with the sintered metallic shoes as well.

I would be interested. You can send me a note at anausied (at) gmail.com.

These brake shoes are 67 Z-28 specific and were not available for other models. They were not part of the 69 option list, although you could still get them over th counter.

Not quite. SS's could have J65. Z's could have J56.
Both RPO J65 and J56 used the same metallic rear drum linings (and thus used the same metallic brake rear axle assemblies).

Duh...thanks for correcting that Kurt. I was thinking J56, but it didn't come out that way.

I still have to look at that page to keep them straight, even though I wrote the page!
