Title: muncie/saginaw 3spd date stamp and casting numbers help

its looks like muncie or saginaw,  i know its a 3 speed. main casing # 3852882   gm1 the other main casing # gm8 395265  and the number 8 or 6 not sure the serial tag on one the side plate bolt 3968081 and the date stamp is M1k31A this number is clear as day was under a ton grease. I cant find nothing on this trans.this transmission has my curiosity peaked it would be nice to know what this transmission is. thanks for any help

oh,,, the main casing is 11" to 11"1/4 inches long from where the bell housing bolts on to where the tail shaft bolts on

3952656 is a Saginaw 3 speed used on the following cars:
