Sometime ago I read that the 1969 Penske Donahue Camaro was involved in a accident at a T/A Historic race. I also read it was going to be rebuilt. Did that ever occur and has it raced again?
-
Yes, the car was wrecked at Sears Point/Infineon, in 2007 I believe. It was rebuilt and raced again in Historic Trans-Am but was then sold to Pat Hogan who races it in RMVR events in Colorado.

Unless he has sold it, Hogan also has the 68 ex Rusty Jowett T/A camaro. I spoke to him several years ago at I think Road America.

I meet Pat many years ago by chance and have been friends since, im sure he still owns both Camaro's, i think he traded a 427 Cobra on the Penske 69 Camaro, he also has a Penske Lola Can Am car, SB Cobra and 66 Shelby vintage race car. Pat and his son Kiel race with RMVR and feature in "Victory Lane" from time to time.
Very nice guy Pat.

I received an email last night that let me know that Pat Hogan has in fact sold the ex-Rusty Jowett Camaro. It is now owned by somebody in California and I'm told he has plans to race it with the Historic Trans-Am group.
