Title: Jerry Titus 1970
Post by: wolfmin on January 05, 2012, 06:13:44 PM
As an 8 year old at the Road America Trans Am in 1970, I spotted Jerry Titus sitting in a street Firebird with his wife near the team's pit.  I asked Jerry for his autograph on the cover of my program, which ended up with many autographs inside of it as the weekend progressed.

The next day Jerry crashed his Firebird at corner 12.  This is one of my most treasured pieces of history.

Very cool piece of memorabilia, Mike. Thanks for sharing that. Jerry was one of the greatest drivers and personalities of the Trans-Am series.

The Yenko Stinger referred to in this article was Donna Mae Mims car, on loan to Jerry for a " test drive " ! I seem to recall that he destoyed the clutch , one of the few week points of the Stinger at the time ( soon resolved )Jerry Thompson won the combined C & D production race easily in his Stinger , setting a new lap record several times.
