I have a Olympic Gold 1969 RS with D96 striping, a 350/TH350, 12 bolt, and white standard interior. It was left to my by my grandmother who bought it in 1969. I've got the protecto-plate and the original window sticker, along with the owner's manual and even the sleeve that came on the sun visor! I've always loved the car and remember riding around in it since I was a little kid. I've been working on it lately and finally got it running for the first time in years. It actually needs a total restoration starting with a good amount of body work, but at least it keeps me out of trouble. For now. I'll post some pics here soon and list all of the info for your data base. Thanks for the cool site.

With the 12 bolt, I assume it's an LM1?
Gold and RS - nice combo!

Ok here are some pictures. She's pretty rough but coming along little by little. I've been addressing some rust issues and working out a lot of dents. The repro fenders will come off when I get the originals straight.

Yes it is. It has around 5,000 miles on a rebuild and I believe it's the original engine. I don't' see anything on the stamp pad so I'll have to do some more searching for the engine stamping.
-
Nice project.
Was the power steering added or just a different pump put on?

Nice car. Check out this Gold Camaro. Might be a nice color for your car. I love the column shift. I have one to.

Nice project and agree with Mike there is something cool about a column shift car.

What's wrong with the pump? I have the same pump I added to my car but everybody told me that's the type it took. Do I need the banjo type pump?
-
If the LM1 and L48 pumps are the same then yes...the banjo type.
-
Marty is showing the correct style pump. The boxy style came out in 70, IIRC.
-
Yes the banjo style is what came on mine. I got the later style from a friend just to keep the power steering from screaming. I have kept all of the original parts to get it back to stock condition, that's the plan. I'm glad some people like the gold, you don't see it often and I really want to restore the car to the way it rolled off the assembly line.
-
OK Thanks for the information. I'll get the right one and change it out. I don't know how I made a boneheaded mistake as simple as this.
