I have a friend that was interested in this car and ask what I thought. The stamping on the DZ block he's offering with the car doesn't look right to me. Could I the the opinion of some other 69 Z owners and see what you think. I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I spoke to this guys some time back when I was looking for a car ( I forget his name though). Based on the history of the car and what he told me about the car I felt he was being honest...He did not seem to beat around any question asked of him...It is an original Z28 as listed from our conversation...I even think he knew the original...I felt just a little to much money for a survivor car that's not all put together...Again just MTC..

Thanks for the response Eddie. What bothers me is I have a 12B 69 RS Z. The stamping on my engine is: 19L512504 - V1203DZ. His is: 19L516421 - V1106DZ. Is it possible that an engine built a month before mine would have a higher VIN.#?

It's a bad re-stamp.
A potentially greater problem is the body tag date of 02B. If the VIN shown on the pad L516421 is suposed to be for this car the VIN or body tag has been swapped. 02B LA VINs are in the L522xxx-L523xxx range.

Thanks William, I thought something just wasn't right.

I concur with Bill. VIN doesn't match the tag and pad is no-good. :(
