i continue to get different information from my local friends in reference to the ignition key verses the door key. some say the door key and ignition key are the same, but others are telling me the round headed key opens the doors, trunk, and glove box. so now i am confused, can anyone here help clear this up for me? the car is a 69 camaro.
thanks

If you look in your owners manual (get one if you don't have one), you'll see that the square head key operates the ignition switch and the door locks. The oval head key operates everything else.

Has anyone else had a problem with new keys? Repo keys came with my 69 Camaro. They work fine. I went to my local chevy dealer to have "real" GM key copies made and even after 3 tries, they won't work. Took GM blanks to my local hardware store and they wouldn't work either. It was only when she used their generic repo blanks that she was able to make a working copy. GO FIGURE!

The ones I bought on eBay several years ago worked fine.

it's the new blanks that dealers are using. Had the same problem. The long slide opening at the top of the blank was too wide on mine.
