on a car with a blacked out tail panel, can anyone advise if the part that holds the trunk latch (welded to the inside of the tailpan) is body color, trunk splatter color or black like the tail pan?
thanks for any help, mike

Splatter...Van Nuys 12A (Dec. 68).

Doesn't matter what color the exterior of the panel is - the interior latch support area is spatter-painted.

By gollies I think I have the original trunk Matt and I've learned how to spell spatter.
John, is you car a Van Nuys or a Norwood...or does it matter? My latch is not spatter painted just the mounting bracket.
Thanks

That is correct, but under the spatter would be/is the blacked out tail panel overspray and then the car color overspray under the black. If the spatter fully covers that area, the paint layer I describe wouldn't be visible.
