I bought this set of french locks, GM part # 14081241, from my local Chevrolet dealer this week. The good news is that they are not stainless steel :). The bad news is they have dimples :(. Are they showable or laughable? Any comments or suggestions about these locks is welcome.

Until last year I had many of those in GM bags and envelopes from twenty years ago, They had a letter stamped on them which I cannot recall with 100% accuracy (M perhaps). But no dimples.

These are NG, no good and they do not have the correct cosmetic appearance either.

What about the ones I had without the dimples and the letters stamped in them? Not at all like the ones in the above picture.

The stainless repros are the only ones that are right on the money as to the appearance.

??? What are these for???

I believe there for the exhaust manifold bolts. They keep them from loosening up?

Correct! :)

??? What are these for???
Not all the exhaust manifold to head bolts had them. More info here...

Jerry@CHP, which repro stainless steel french locks are right on the money? I've seen them with round tabs, square tabs, with dimples, without dimples, a broad arch (like the ones pictured by the original post), and a sharper arch?
