Post by: monaroman on July 05, 2010, 03:14:48 AM

Hi,

I would like to check the exact factory colour of a 68 396 325hp.

Chevrolet (GM) orange? although i have read Hugger orange.

Cheers for your input.

Hi there,

Has anyone tried using a spry gun to lay down the engine paint.

If so could they list the exact mix of paint that made it successful (matching EN48)

As always thatnk you for your assistance

I have, same painting principles apply. But it's not correct for a restoration. Especially if you shoot it heavily and leave it full gloss. Excessive mil thickness fills the casting texture. You'd have to cut the gloss and minimize thickness.
