Title: Protect-O-Plate Information
Post by: Montreal58 on April 11, 2010, 05:31:00 PM
My 69 Camaro is a 10C car late 69 build Vin#1243679N698xxx. My question is the transmission code on the plate reads Y0R04. I decode this as a 1970 model year transmission. Was this the normal practice for late builds? Thanks for your help.

I'm reading it as:

Y - Toledo built TH350
0 -  model year - 70 model year for most cars, or late build 69 Camaros
R - October
04 - day of October 1969

Yes, some late 69 trans were coded as 70's since they were also used in other carlines.
