Hello guys,
I am just finishing up the painting portion of my cars restoration. i have one question regarding what color the bottom 3 inches or so of my car should be. From the back of the front wheel well to the front of the rear wheel well I have seen it painted 2 different ways. One way is to leave it the same color as the car ( which my car is Lemans Blue with white stripes and white vinyl top) or I have seen it painted a black color with some texture to the black. Does anybody know what I am talking about or am I up in the night? thanks for your help

You don't state what year, or options, but read this for starters: http://www.camaros.org/exterior.shtml#BlackoutPaint

Sorry about not giving enough info.
My car is a 69 z28 oct built.
It sounds like it should have black on the bottom if I have read the attachment correctly!?!
Thanks

67 - 69 RS, & 69 Style trim should have the sill black out. If I'm wrong I will be corrected.

does anybody know the type of paint or is there a correct black color that it should be painted?? Also the ones that I have seen are not a smooth black but has a little texture is that correct also? Thanks

Mine is smooth. Unfortunately, I don't know the exact color. Looks like 60% semi-gloss to me. While we are on this topic, was the sill black on a Dove White car?

John, Yes if it has RS or in 69 style trim.
