Title: Removing Broadcast Sheet from tank
Post by: 67pacer on December 21, 2008, 03:00:00 AM
Hi, Been awile since I have posted here. I have picked up a new project. A 69 RS Z/28 that has been off the road since 1981. I have droped the gas tank and found the sheet glued to the top. Is there a trick to loosening the glued portion?

I would leave it on the tank if it is stuck pretty good. Put another tank in it if you are gonna drive it.

I agree.  I wouldn't mess with it.  Take some good pics of it though!

Thanks. That is a good idea. I sure don't want to destroy it trying to remove it .

Sort of a sad story. I replaced the tank in my 69 Z-28 in the late 70's. I still have the tank, I checked it awhile back and there is what appears to be about 3/4 inch of a broadcast sheet stuck to the tank. I would imagine when I pulled it in 1976 I looked at that weird piece of paper and pulled off what was stuck and threw it away! Didn't know what those pieces of paper were back then, but what to heck it was only a $2350.00 dollar car.
