Were these same shifters also good on 1st and 2nd Gen Firebirds ???

"Staple shape" shifters were used with 68 and 69 camaro models with powerglide, th350, and turbo 400. Not interchaneable with firebird.

For whatever it's worth ... the dentet was really the only thing that was different on the horse shoe/staple shifters between the powerglides and the Th350 and Th400's - (2 speed auto tranny vs. a 3 speeds one).

it will work with a firebird but you have to use a camaro console and also the shifter cable from the camaro shifter

But there is only one auto floor shifter - it works for both powerglide and for TH350/TH400's. The detent for the 2-3 shift comes from the tranny.

I had a huge issue when I sold an auto shifter on ebay .It came out of a TH-350 Nova .The buyer accused me of cheating because it was missing a detent .I could not convince him the shifters were the same for 2 and 3 speeds .

I remember having to prove this to myself before I believed it!
