I have a 69 Camaro with a build date of 04C. What would be the number range I would need for a correct Quadrajet for my car? How early and how late of a carb. would be the correct one for my car. I currently have a 7040511 QT with a date code of 0620 right next to the quadrajet number. I also have a 7029223 - date code 2488, but it looks like the date code is on the bottom plate instead of the body. Would the date be on on the bottom plate?
Thanks,
Steve

Rochester-built quadrajets have a four digit julian-type code signifying actual day & year the carb was manufactured. 0620 is 62nd day of '70 & 2488 is 242nd day of '68. My '68s carb date is on the side of the bottom plate, driver side rear. Carter-built quadrajets had letter & year date codes i.e. D8 for April '68.
An 04C car's (April, 3rd week, 69) carb would probably be in the 1009-1159 range or 100-115th day of 1969.
