Title: Seat Belt Dye
Post by: Adz28 on January 29, 2008, 05:43:40 PM
Can anyone recommend a black dye (or process) that can be used to restore the color to the belt? The buckles are in good shape, but the belts can use some help.

Just dicussed on Team Camaro a few weeks ago:

BTW, it is generally said for safety reasons that it is better to re-web.  And the vinyl paint suggested on the TC post will rub off under the right (wrong) conditions.
We have discussed Ssnake Oyl in Texas here before.  Several have said they do good work.  questions@ssnake-oyl.com

Thanks Phil. I was considering them, but was hoping I could get it done at home. When I last cleaned them, I must not have rinsed them enough, or maybe the soap I used had a little bleach.  Two of the belts have a pink sheen.  Thanks for providing that thread.
