Title: 1969 factory Hurst 4-spd shifter and linkage

I'm restoring a Z28 but need to find the correct shifter and linkage. I know the shifter carries #3138 and the handle is marked #5325, but what numbers are on the linkage rods and levers? Are there date codes for any of these items? Thanks much for helping a newbie!

The original Hurst shifter for a 69 can be one of the hardest (and most expensive parts for what you get) parts to come by.  I have been looking for a good used one now for about 3 years.  They come up on Ebay from time to time, but they normally end up selling in the $500-600 dollar range...so I am still looking for a deal:)

If they would make a quality repo in the 300 dollar range, I would be all over it.

You may have to expand your budget as this one rang the bell for $610. The '69 Z/28 is possibly the hottest collector car just now. Parts prices rise with the tide.

Hope you never need a '69 bb Hurst shifter. Those are over $2000.

Actually, $610 didn't buy it either...reserve was not met and it has been relisted for $995 Buy it Now.  The same place has another one listed with no linkage and without the mount for $595 Buy it Now.  This has got outta hand:)

I would say it is out of hand.

We still had a complete '69 Z/28 shifter in '97 when I left the Camaro biz. Rods, swivel, attaching hardware, everything. Couldn't give it away.

We finally did get $800 for the rebuilt drum-to drum 3:73 12 bolt posi though....

When I took possession of my 69 Z28 in the early 80's...the owner had put a 10 bolt in it for the higher gear, but he also let me have the 12 bolt too.  I had no use for the 12 bolt and sold it for $300...15 years later, I bought a replacement 12 bolt for $800...Live and Learn!
