Title: VIN LOCATION OTHER THAN DASH ?
Post by: hicky007ca on September 28, 2007, 08:32:07 PM
HI ALL, DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE ARE OTHER LOCATION TO GET A SERIAL # FOR A 68 CAMARO OTHER THAN THE DASH PANEL , I AM BEING TOLD THAT MY VIN # WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN RELEASED BY THE GENERAL TO THE PUBLIC , MY VIN # IS      124378N300001  , WHICH WOULD MAKE IT THE FIRST ONE OFF THE LINE IN NORWOOD. CAN ANYONE HELP?

THANX
JOHN

This topic is more relavent to your question: http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#PartialVIN

No, the first unit off the line would be a saleable unit. It probably was used by engineering or sales, then sent to auction or sold to employees or dealers.

Can you post a picture of the VIN and cowl tag? :)
