Title: YA Wheels
Post by: Camaro Billy on September 04, 2007, 07:07:41 PM
I am looking for a set of  YA or "SS" wheels for my 11D build 1969 RS/SS
I have spoke to the 3rd owner of my car who owned it in the early '70's and he says it had SS wheels on it when he had it.
2 questions, could my car have been delivered with SS wheels , and I have found one wheel with an  8  11  28 date code, would that code be too late for my car ?
Thanks for any help.
Billy

The Super Sport Wheel package, N66, was only  available for a short time.... early built cars maybe up to November.  So maybe if your car was ordered with them then they could be correct.

My guess is that with good wheels so hard to find then ANY date prior to your build would be ok...

good luck in the search...

From one of the CRG pages

"SS"    Front Disc   YA 14x7    SS    RPO N66 *
 * removed from Dec 68 order sheet

Thanks for the info.I haven't been looking too long, but so far I have only found 1 YA wheel dated in '68 , and that one was too late. I might have to settle for later dates.
Thanks
Billy
