In looking at some "restored" cars on e Bay, I noticed the paper part ID tags on the bottom of the front coil springs, and it reminded me that when I did my front suspension in 1995, I found the original "EY" blue spring tags intact on my car, but only because they had been installed with the tag at the top up inisde the frame rails as opposed to at the bottom where they would be visible when installed. Had they been installed at the bottom, they would have been long gone. Ii was a pleasant surprise to find them, a genuine Kodak moment!

Yes Jimmy you are lucky! Always great to find original stuff especially the paper tags and such. Sam ;D

I have disassembled several 1st gens; all had the tags at the top.

My spring tags were on about the 3 coil from the bottom. VanNuys car 11B. I found them and was shocked.

I found "YA" tags on both of my front coil springs back in Feb '04 when I rebuilt the front suspension. Both tags were located at the bottom on the coil just above the lower control arm.

One blue EY sticker remained on my car, Pass side spring, a few coils uo from the bottom. It most likely survived because the car was effectively parked since 1984!!!
KODAK moment indeed, I started snapping photos before I could even see what color it was...
