Would a March 19 build date on a rear diff. be too late for a 04D car? thanks
-
It would be ok in my book.
-
Depends on what year and plant.
If you're buying a rear for a car, you'd have to look for a while to find much closer than that.
If it's supposed to be original, I'd have to have more data......

Boy did I screw this post up! The build date on my 69 camaro is 03D not 04D. I will try again. Is a March 19 build date on a 12 bolt housing too late for a 69 Camaro with an 03D on the cowl tag? Thanks in advance for any help.

In 1967, the 19th was Sunday of the third week of March; in 1968 it was Tuesday of the third week of March; and in 1969 March 19 was the Wednesday of the third week of March. Following link will give you calendar info for 1967-1969: http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/custom.html?year=1969&country=1&cols=2&hol=25&moon=on&doy=on.
Your build date of 03D indicates that Fisher Body began building the body sometime during the 4th week of March; i.e. definitely sometime after 20 March. When the car went through final assembly needs to be further analyzed. The VIN sequence can help. See the following: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=1556.0
Still looks good to me.

It is a Norwood built car.
-
Datewise, that looks good/better.
What's the axle application code? What's the VIN?
-
The axle code is BV... the VIN is 6187xx.
-
Real close, but doable. :)
I take it that it's an L78 car?
-
Yes it's an L-78 4 speed. Thanks again for all the replys.
