Title: 68 MQ stamp & VIN
Post by: ccargo on July 02, 2007, 04:00:20 PM
I finally got a camera that will take a clear shot of stamp pads and such. Here's the MQ in my 68 L78 for your data base.

WOW! Late February VIN with a mid October engine. What's that, about 4.5 months or so?

The cast date on the block is J-18-7 so it does push the envelope on the norm! This is a weird conglomeration anyway since this is the restoration block I'm using for a highly documented 15K original mile car that lost its motor. Its only 16,833 vin numbers behind my car thats an 04A build. Pickings are pretty slim when it comes to donor Camaro MQ L78 blocks :) The original MQ to my 04A was MUCH tighter.
