I have a 69 rs/ss 396 car that is cortez silver with dark blue interior. Is this a correct combination?
-
Seems like a funny combo but what does the trim tag read it should be

Several years ago we stumbled across a Cortez Silver/dark blue interior, w/dark blue vinyl top, SS car in very tired, but unmodified, condition. It was rescued from a backyard in a southeastern Los Angeles neighborhod where it had been stored in anticipation of eventually being cut up for a race car. It was a very striking combination when the paint and body work were completed.

I have also seen this combo before in my travels to inspect cars. It does look good when everything is fresh. How about Burrnished brown with green interior. GM built that too. I have photos to prove it. Not good.

I'll pass on that burnished brown with green interior! I did look at the codes on my car and it is 715 interior and 69 paint. The car is painted blue now with silver stripes. I will be painting it back to the original color. It is an early car with no x code and I'm not sure what if any stripes the car had new ! Do you think the car may have had dark blue stripes. P.S thanks to all for the replies!!!!

Just for your information, only Z/28 and Indy pace cars have rally stripes on the hood and trunk.
-
All production stripes, Z28 and SS were Red, Black, or White. Red stripes mostly came on burgundy (67) cars. With Silver (69) paint and (715) blue interior, if it had stripes they would have been black.
Personally I like the silver/blue combo.

All non-Z stripes (SS/D90 and DX1) were red, black, and white.
Z stripes were only black and white, except for pacers & Z10's which of course were orange.
For 69, it can be complicated. See http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#ExteriorColors and the associated footnotes.

1969 Camaro Dealer Ordering Info contains a matrix depicting "approved" paint/trim combos; silver & blue is one of them. No special order required but not very common. There is one currently on ebay.
I can't resist a can you-top-this: At SC-Indy a few years ago an Olympic Gold Z/28-RS with midnight green interior and brown vinyl roof.
