Title: 67 alternator bracket mounting bolt/stud
Post by: dans67camaro on June 10, 2007, 12:13:56 PM
I have a 1967 SS350 w/o ac, air pump or p/s. Does anyone know what the two fasterners are that mounts the alt. bracket to the engine? I assume it takes one bolt into the intake and one bolt in the water pump, with the water pump bolt head painted orange. Or is the water pump fastener a bolt with a stud for the bracket, similiar to the ground battery cable mount to the water pump on the RH side of the water pump, top fastener? Small detail, but no repo fasteners kits for the water pump include a bolt/stud fastener for the alt bracket at the water pump. Thanks.. Dan

I have a '68 SS350 which has the same set up.  The water pump fastener is a bolt with a stud for the bracket, as you stated.  Sorry, mine is original and I don't know of a repo.

Dan - I found the water pump stud in the "Ground Up" catalog, pg. 33. part num. aws-301s.
