Title: 1968 MO 302 stamp — Legit?

I am looking at this car and think the vin stamp on the motor looks a little off. Thoughts? Thanks in advance

I don't see any factory broach marks on that block, and I'd be suspicious of any stamped numbers on that pad.....JMO.

General characters and font are not outside the realm of possibility. Judge the build date against the casting date and the assembly week and see how it falls. Assuming the casting number is correct as well ? If everything matches, I wouldn’t count it out -

Steve

Car is 04A and here is some information I have collected. It appears cars with vin numbers before and after this vin are dated March 20th and 29th respectively. That’s a month different. I am open for any information before making a bad purchase.

I'd need to see a better / clearer picture first.
