Title: Camaro 1968 optional question
Post by: Marco999 on December 23, 2023, 02:14:41 PM
Hi everyone, I’m Marco. I’m going to buy an RS Camaro ‘68 327. This car have a strange things: there is another dimmer switch near the headlights one and there is a toggle switch between the stearing wheel and the air vent. I saw a lot of pics on internet but no one has these options.. except one: these Firebird (see the photo) has these switches (the floor one isn’t near the headlights one, but maybe it’s because is a different car model).
Does somebody know these switches are for? Thank you all

Not factory options.

Could possibly be for a electric fuel pump, alarm system or extra lights.

Is this a foreign produced Camaro?  Tell us more about it. I see the speedometer is 160.  Those were never factory in Camaros in the US, but they were in Firebirds if that is for MPH.

The first photo that I sent (in which you can see the speedometer) is the firebird that i found on internet. The second photo that I attached is my 1967 Camaro. Yes the camaro is in italy and it was an abbandonated car, but the speedometer is 200. I didn't know there were EU models in those years.

Marco, is there a trim tag or assembly plant tag on the firewall under the hood? May have been a foreign assembled car with a 200 KPH speedometer. Read more here:
