Title: Effect of springs on 68-69 RS headlights
Post by: brentosmond on November 14, 2023, 02:11:10 AM
Hi, Does anyone know what those springs actually do? I found that even if I don't use them, the lights still work fine. Any comments? Thank

It might be what they call an "Over center spring", the spring bellcrank hook arm & resulting tension from the spring,  really just "stabilizes" the door in either or other position to keep road action from causing them to flutter or vibrate while driving, Also it UNLOADS as in Aides the actuator  which is difficult to observe from the drivers or rider's position.
