Title: 4 Hands on the Wheel Donohue Penske Video building 69 TA camaro

I started this at the point you begin to see the contruction of the 69 TA car... in the back ground the guy on the right is splitting the fender to hand flare it...
Later it shows him with a hammer and dolly stretching the metal out.
another shot shows the end of the drivers door with the hole for air to go through and cool the rear brakes...

I saw the '69 race at Watkins Glen. Never got to see the Lola T70, one of the best looking racecars ever.

Are you kidding.. I would trade all my cars for a LOLA T70 MarkIIIB.
I agree of the most beautiful cars ever built.

I went and looked up the story, the rig and the HACKED LOLA were recovered the next day, They literally sawed the engine and gearbox off out of the lola. When the engine and parts were recovered a month later they were trying to install the 5 liter chevy with webbers into a COBRA. 

THE THEFT ENDED Donohue and Penske's run at LEMANS that year.

I just loved the hammering on the fender stretching it for flares, so much work, and how about Donohue saying he was not paid a dime to work only got paid by winning on the track. Roger saying Mark spent 6-8 hours with the car on the chassis plate the day before the race setting everything.
Donohue was into the data... and he was extremely good at interopreting it!
I had always assumed they welded the bulge into the fender.

If you read the old book Chevrolet Racing? it says Mark was one of the best test drivers ever. He could make the car go as fast as possible by the second or third lap. After that they were wasting time.
