Sometimes they coded the interior hard surface paint color.

DG 7 would be a non-style trim Z/28 with Midnight Green interior.

I agree with William on the interior hard surface paint color except I think it is:
LG 7 non style trim Z/28 with Medium green interior which this car has.

Is the trunk divider still there?

Ok, thanks. I'm learning on this. I attached what I'm talking about. So the pad did not come with the car originally?
Thanks again.

As Joe said, no pad. Do a search (upper righthand corner on any page on this site) "trunk divider" and you can see and learn about this. The repop dividers fall short as to what originally came in these cars.

Just wondering, what would the 7 denoting X77 have to do with the interior color? Or any other x code.

Per John Z, cars built with rear quarter louver trim had mounting holes pierced in the quarter panel. This was done with a fixture placed on the quarter panel at a station somewhere during body fabrication. Writing the code was probably something a manufacturing engineer cooked up to ensure it was completed as needed; no one wants re-work. The X codes may have referred to pages in an assembly manual. I have never heard of a Van Nuys car with an X code written on it.

The late Warren Malkin had an X44 COPO; the passenger side of the car had the louver holes punched and puttied shut prior to paint.

Could be it was only done for red, green and blue interiors.
